1986-1989 Woodmere Farm. Managed 60 stall hunter-jumper show barn, organized clinics and schooling shows, hauled horses, arranged for farrier and vet, accounts payable and receivable, taught lessons when instructors were out of town. Property was sold and turned into a housing development.
1986-1997 Columbia Hardwood & Moulding, Inc. Owner/Board member. As one of four owners, managed our family lumber manufacturing operation (as a board of directors with an on site GM). I was the Broker’s primary contact in all aspects of marketing and selling the operating company.
1990-1996 Show Office Assistant Secretary to Barbara Baierle. Worked at A Circuit Hunter/Jumper Shows in Oregon, Washington and BC Canada (8-10 per year).
1990-2009 JEMPAK Partners, LLC/Tigard Central Industrial Park. Property Manager. Complete management of approximately 250,000 square feet of warehouse and office space for lease. Main responsibilities: Advertising, negotiate leases, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, arrange for tenant improvements, maintenance and repairs, capital improvements, tenant and vendor communication, report to owners at partnership meetings. Sold real estate, dissolved partnership.
1991-Present Owner/Manager of Equestrian Events, Inc. dba: Crescendo Farms in Beaverton, Oregon. 36 acre farm has been developed over the years (since 1991) into an Equestrian Education Center. We have 33 stalls and keep 28 horses on the property year round (6 of which are pasture boarders). The extra stalls are for horses participating in clinics and shows put on at Crescendo Farms, or doing occasional lay up care for referrals from our vet. I own three school horses and currently teach 20+ lessons a week (school horse and client lessons) and incorporate training rides on client horses as needed. In addition to Centered Riding Open and Instructor Update clinics, we host clinics in dressage, hunter/jumper and natural horsemanship on a regular basis. Students attend shows in dressage and hunter/jumper disciplines, responsibilities involving coaching at shows, client, entry and equipment organization, horse hauling. Other responsibilities include management of staff, facilities and property, setting a high standard in horse, client and facility care, maintenance and upkeep. Promoting a well balanced and warm atmosphere that contributes to the well being of horse and rider and encourage sportsmanship and support of each other in the education process.
